I love taking long walks when I travel. It’s the best way to see a place, to become in some small way familiar with it and the people who live there. I pay more attention to things, distracted by nothing but what’s at hand. When I traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico, I wanted to spend my days walking the streets and alleyways with my wife, exploring and not overthinking any photographs I took. I wanted to notice more of the simpler things, to be intuitive and mindful but still present in the experience. So I brought along one of my favorite cameras, the Ricoh GR IIIx. It stayed in my back pocket a lot, but here are some photographs I took whenever I took it out.
